Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Mix the cream cheese, ricotta, lemon zest, salt, and 4 tablespoons of sugar until smooth.
- Slice the apples and toss them with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into a rectangle.
- Cut notches in the pastry and slice strips down both sides.
- Spread cream cheese filling down the center and top with apple slices.
- Fold the pastry over the filling, alternating sides with the strips.
- Chill in the freezer for 15 minutes, then brush with egg wash.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make icing, then drizzle over the warm danish.
