Quick and Easy Mussels

white wine (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the mussels thoroughly and discard any that do not close when tapped.
- In a large sauté pan, heat the olive oil and add the sliced garlic.
- Once the garlic begins to cook, add the mussels, red pepper flakes, and basil.
- Cover the pan and allow the mussels to steam open.
- When the mussels have opened, add the wine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Serve immediately with a loaf of crusty bread.
