Chicken Broccoli Casserole

Ingredients

Casserole

  • 4 cups Broccoli (cut into florets)
  • 2 tbsp Danish Creamery Salted European Style Butter
  • 2 lb Boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • ½ tsp Sea salt
  • ½ tsp Black pepper
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese

Sauce

  • ¼ cup Danish Creamery Salted European Style Butter
  • 1 cup Chicken bone broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • ¼ cup Sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
  2. Boil broccoli in a pot of water for 3-5 minutes until crisp-tender, then drain and place in a baking dish.
  3. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then cook in a skillet with butter until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add the cooked chicken to the baking dish with the broccoli.
  5. In the same skillet, melt more butter and add chicken broth, heavy cream, poultry seasoning, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, then simmer until reduced by 1/4.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  7. Pour the sauce over the chicken and broccoli, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes until hot and cheese is melted.
