Ingredients

The beef and vegetables

  • ½ lb thinly sliced beef
  • ½ tablespoon oil
  • ½ onion sliced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon chopped scallion
  • to taste Beni shoga

The sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Mizkan Bonito Flavored Soup Base
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • tablespoons Mizkan Honteri Mirin
  • tablespoons sake
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

For boiling

  • to taste water

Instructions

  1. Boil a pot of water, then turn off the heat and add the beef to scald it briefly before removing it.
  2. Discard the water and mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sauté the onions and ginger until soft.
  4. Add the beef and sauce to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  5. Serve the beef mixture over steamed rice and garnish with scallions and beni shoga.
