Ingredients

The crust

  • 2 9-inch pie crusts

The filling

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup raisins or chopped toasted walnuts or pecans
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon (optional)
  • cup brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • cup plus 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Roll out the pie crust and stamp out circles to fit muffin tins.
  2. Press the crusts into the muffin pan and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Microwave raisins with bourbon and set aside.
  4. Melt butter and mix with brown sugar and flour until smooth.
  5. Whisk in eggs, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt until well combined.
  6. Place raisins in the tart shells and fill with the mixture.
  7. Bake until the tops are dry and crackly, about 25 to 35 minutes.
  8. Cool completely before removing from the pan.
