Apple Tart

The crust

The filling

apples, cored and cut into ¼-inch thick slices

apricot preserves, melted and strained
Instructions
- Mix flour, salt, and butter in a stand mixer on low speed for 2 minutes.
- Slowly add ice water until the dough forms a ball.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until it comes together and shape into a disk.
- Roll the dough into a round about ¼ inch thick and transfer to a baking sheet.
- Combine sugar and flour, sprinkle over the dough, and arrange apple slices on top.
- Fold the dough over the apples, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with remaining sugar.
- Refrigerate the tart for about 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (207°C) and bake for 1 hour until apples are tender and crust is golden.
- Brush the apples with melted preserves and let cool slightly before serving.
