Instructions
- Make the pastry by combining flour, sugar, butter, and salt in a food processor, then pulse until crumbles form.
- Add ice-cold water and pulse until the dough is moistened, then form it into a disk and refrigerate.
- Roll out the dough into a circle and transfer it to a tart pan, then chill for 1 hour.
- In the food processor, combine almond flour, sugar, salt, butter, and egg, then add vanilla or alcohol and purée until smooth.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Spread a thin layer of frangipane on the tart shell, then fan out the apple slices on top.
- Sprinkle sugar over the apples and dot with remaining butter.
- Bake the tart for 60-70 minutes until golden brown.
- If using, prepare the apricot glaze and brush it over the tart after it cools.
