Apple Cinnamon Tart

Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • teaspoon nutmeg
  • teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Core and thinly slice the apples, then toss them with lemon juice.
  3. Flour your workspace and roll out the puff pastry to a 10" x 14" rectangle.
  4. Place the pastry on the baking sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix 1 tablespoon of sugar with flour in one bowl, and in another bowl, mix the remaining sugar with cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  6. Sprinkle the flour mixture on the pastry, then arrange the apple slices on top in rows.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apples.
  8. Bake for about 35 minutes until the edges are browned and apples are tender.
  9. Cool for a few minutes, slice into 12 pieces, and serve.
