Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

Ingredients

The asparagus and bacon

  • 1½-2 pounds asparagus, ends trimmed
  • 8-10 slices bacon, thick or regular cut

The seasonings

  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ½-1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper, to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
  2. Place bacon in a single layer on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until halfway cooked.
  3. While the bacon cooks, mix minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and olive oil in a bowl to create the spice mix.
  4. Remove bacon from the oven, drain grease, and let it cool slightly.
  5. Wrap 3-4 asparagus stalks with a slice of bacon, tucking the ends underneath.
  6. Place the wrapped bundles seam-side down on the baking sheet and brush with the spice mixture.
  7. Bake the bundles for 15-20 minutes or until the asparagus is cooked to your preference.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
