Sushi Rice

Ingredients

The rice

  • ½ cup Calrose rice
  • ½ cup sushi rice
  • 450 ml water
  • 1 piece kombu

Sushi Rice Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Wash the rice with water and drain until the water runs clear.
  2. Mix the sushi rice seasoning ingredients in a bowl until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Transfer the rice to a rice cooker, add water and kombu, and cook.
  4. Once cooked, transfer the rice to a wooden bowl and spread it out.
  5. Add the sushi rice seasoning and mix well with a wooden spoon.
  6. Let the rice cool to warm before shaping it for sushi.
