Ingredients

The Crostini

  • 1 small loaf crusty whole grain bread
  • 2+ tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste none sea salt
  • 10 ounces goat cheese

The Cranberry Orange Sauce

  • ½ cup+ honey
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries
  • Zest of 1 none orange

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and brush both sides of each bread slice with olive oil, sprinkling with salt before toasting.
  2. Toast the bread on a baking sheet for 10 to 12 minutes, turning halfway until golden.
  3. In a saucepan, combine water, honey, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice, bringing to a gentle boil.
  4. Add the cranberries to the saucepan and cook until they pop and the sauce thickens, then stir in two-thirds of the orange zest.
  5. Spread goat cheese on each toast, top with cranberry sauce, and sprinkle with remaining orange zest before serving.
