Slow Cooker Sunday Sauce

Ingredients

The sauce

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound pork ribs
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 1 pound meatballs
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 28-oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • to taste pepper

For serving

  • to taste whole-grain noodles
  • to taste basil
  • to taste parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet and cook the pork ribs on one side for 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. Add the meatballs and sausage to the pan, flipping the ribs after 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Cook until all the meat is done and no longer pink, then transfer to the slow cooker.
  4. In the same skillet, heat the remaining olive oil and sauté the diced onion for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, then transfer to the slow cooker.
  6. Add the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
  7. Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours until the rib meat is falling off the bone.
  8. Serve with whole-grain noodles and garnish with basil and parmesan cheese.
