Ingredients

Popped Popcorn

  • cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or extra-virgin olive oil

Tahini Caramel Sauce

  • 6 cups popped popcorn
  • ½ cup real maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pop the popcorn by heating oil in a pan, adding kernels, and shaking until popping slows.
  3. Transfer popped popcorn to a bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.
  4. In a saucepan, bring maple syrup to a boil for 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
  5. Remove from heat and mix in tahini, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon.
  6. Drizzle the sauce over the popcorn and toss to combine.
  7. Spread popcorn on the baking sheet and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Bake for 6 minutes, rotate, and bake for another 2 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool, then break into pieces and serve.
