The maple icing

Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
- Cream the butter and brown sugar together until smooth, then add the egg and mix until combined.
- Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract, and mix until well combined.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix until combined, then fold in the pecans.
- Cover and chill the dough for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare baking sheets.
- Roll the chilled dough into balls and place on the baking sheets.
- Bake for 12-13 minutes until lightly browned on the sides.
- Prepare the icing by melting butter and maple syrup, then whisk in the confectioners’ sugar and salt.
- Drizzle the icing over the cooled cookies and allow to set.
