Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare muffin pans with liners or cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flours, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, melted butter, honey, egg, and vanilla, then pour over the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced pears.
- Fill the muffin cups three-quarters full, sprinkle with turbinado sugar, and bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
