Instructions
- Soak the dry pinto beans in water for 8 to 12 hours, then drain and rinse them.
- Add the soaked beans to the Instant Pot with 2½ cups of fresh water and seasonings.
- Secure the lid, set the steam release valve to 'Sealing', and cook at high pressure for 15 minutes.
- Allow the pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes, then release any remaining pressure.
- Check the beans for tenderness and cook for an additional 5 minutes if necessary.
- For thicker liquid, use the Sauté function for about 10 minutes with the lid off.
