Vegan Chickpea Burgers

Ingredients

The patties

  • 1 ½ cups cooked chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1-2 tablespoons mayo/sour cream/yogurt/sauce of choice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½-1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Serving suggestions

  • to taste Buns or lettuce leaves
  • to taste Extra sauce
  • to taste Ketchup
  • to taste Mustard
  • to taste Grilled onions
  • to taste Raw onion slices
  • to taste Lettuce
  • to taste Tomato
  • to taste Pickles
  • to taste Avocado
  • to taste Dairy free cheese

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor and pulse until crumbly and well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  3. Cook the patties on a preheated griddle or pan for 5-6 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Alternatively, bake them on a parchment-lined baking sheet at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes on each side.
  5. Allow the burgers to cool slightly before serving with toppings of your choice.
