Smoked Chicken Dry Rub

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Transfer the mixture into a spice container or a Mason jar.
  3. Use the dry rub on 1 to 1.5 lbs. of chicken by sprinkling it on and massaging it in.
  4. Let the chicken sit for at least 15 minutes before cooking.
  5. Store any leftover dry rub in a cool, dark place for up to 3 months.
