Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add diced onions, carrots, celery, and green pepper; cook until softened.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up, and cook until browned.
- Mix in salt, chili powder, and onion powder until well combined.
- Add honey, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, tomato sauce, ketchup, and water; stir to combine.
- Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes until thickened, adding more liquid if necessary.
- Serve ⅔ cup of the meat mixture on each bun topped with a slice of cheddar cheese.
