Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with salt, crushed garlic, hot sauce, and creole seasoning in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, herbs, and white pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture, shaking off excess flour.
- Double dip the chicken in buttermilk again and then in the flour mixture, shaking off excess flour.
- Let the coated chicken rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
- Set the air fryer to 375°F, grease the basket, and place the chicken in a single layer without overcrowding.
- Cook for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the outside is crispy and golden brown.
