Ingredients

The Salmon

  • 1 lb salmon filets

The Teriyaki Sauce

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons warm water

For Serving

  • to taste sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon filets dry with a paper towel.
  2. Prepare the teriyaki sauce by whisking together soy sauce, maple syrup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sriracha.
  3. Marinate the salmon in half of the teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to high broil and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it skin-side down on the baking sheet.
  6. Broil the salmon for about 8 minutes, checking after 6 minutes.
  7. While the salmon is cooking, thicken the remaining teriyaki sauce by boiling it and adding a cornstarch slurry.
  8. Once the salmon is cooked and flaky, let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve the salmon with rice and drizzle with the thickened teriyaki sauce.
