Instructions
- Allow the prime rib to come to room temperature for 2-3 hours.
- Sprinkle salt on each side of the prime rib.
- Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.
- Combine the room temperature butter with garlic, parsley, and spices.
- Pat the prime rib dry and rub it with the seasoned herb butter.
- Place the prime rib bone-side down and fat cap-side up in a skillet or roasting pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes to form a crust.
- Adjust the oven temperature to 325 degrees and continue cooking until desired doneness.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.
- Allow the prime rib to rest for 45-60 minutes before slicing.
