Ingredients

The gnocchi

  • 1 batch 20-Minute Ricotta Gnocchi

The sauce

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 20 large fresh sage leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 small fresh lemon
  • to taste freshly-grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste fine sea salt
  • to taste freshly-cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the ricotta gnocchi according to the recipe instructions.
  2. Melt the butter in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sage leaves and crushed red pepper flakes to the melted butter and cook until the butter turns light brown and the sage leaves are crispy.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and add the cooked gnocchi, lemon zest, and lemon juice, tossing to combine.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with Parmesan cheese.
