Paleo BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ¼ cup shallots, minced
  • 1 bottle (7 ounce) tomato paste
  • 1 cup orange juice, fresh squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon celtic sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1. Warm the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the crushed garlic and minced shallots; cook until soft.
  3. 3. Stir in the tomato paste, fresh orange juice, apple cider vinegar, dry mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. 4. Simmer the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring often.
  5. 5. Use the sauce to baste over chicken or marinate in the fridge for 1 to 3 hours before grilling.
