Garlic Lovers' Spaghetti

Ingredients

The pasta

  • 1 pound dry spaghetti

The sauce

  • 1 large head garlic
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • pinch salt
  • pinch freshly-cracked black pepper
  • pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Optional toppings

  • to taste freshly-grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste extra black pepper
  • to taste extra crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped garlic to the pan and sauté for 4-6 minutes until fragrant and just starting to brown.
  4. Slowly pour in the white wine, then add the Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  5. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Once the pasta is ready, return it to the pot and mix in the garlic-butter sauce until well combined.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with optional toppings if desired.
