Ingredients

The pasta

  • 1 lb. whole wheat spaghetti

The sauce

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large bunch basil, chopped
  • 1 large bunch baby spinach, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste Parmigiano Reggiano cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions.
  2. In a large nonstick skillet, heat the butter over medium-low heat and add the minced garlic, sautéing until soft and fragrant.
  3. Chop the spinach and basil, then add to the skillet and stir until softened, seasoning with salt.
  4. Combine the cooked spaghetti with the garlic butter mixture, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Toss well and let rest for a few minutes before serving with additional butter and grated cheese.
