Ingredients

The dough

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar, packed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder
  • teaspoon salt

The mix-ins

  • cup sliced almonds, lightly chopped

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, matcha powder, and salt.
  2. Cream the butter and powdered sugar until fluffy using an electric mixer.
  3. Gradually add the sifted ingredients until a dough forms, then mix in the sliced almonds.
  4. Shape the dough into a log, wrap it in plastic wrap, and freeze for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 325°F (162°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Slice the dough into ¼ inch thick pieces and arrange them on the baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 14–16 minutes, then cool on a wire rack before storing.
