Homemade Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • cup water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • a pinch sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and chopping them, then add them to a large pot.
  2. Pour in the water and apple cider vinegar, and cook over low heat, stirring often until the apples start to soften, about 4 minutes.
  3. Cover the pot and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Uncover, stir in the cinnamon and salt, cover again, and continue simmering for 10 to 20 more minutes until the apples are very tender.
  5. Remove from heat and mash the apples to your desired consistency using a potato masher or blend for a smoother texture.
