Ingredients

The apples

  • 3 lbs apples

The liquid

  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Cut the apples into large chunks, leaving the skins on.
  2. Place the apple chunks in a pot and add a cup of water.
  3. Cover the pot and bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and simmer until the apples are very tender, about 20 minutes.
  4. Pass the cooked apples through a food mill to puree.
  5. Store the applesauce in the fridge or use it immediately.
