Classic Homemade Applesauce

Instructions
- Peel and slice the apples into small pieces and place them in a pot.
- Add water to the pot and bring it to a low boil over medium heat, mashing the apples as they cook down while keeping the pot covered.
- Once the desired consistency is reached, add sugar, cinnamon, and/or red hot candies, then bring to a boil.
- Recover the pot and remove it from heat, allowing it to cool before refrigerating.
