Buttery Instant Pot Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cabbage, roughly chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • ¼ cup cold, unsalted butter, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¾ cup chicken broth or vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Add the chopped cabbage and diced onion to the Instant Pot.
  2. Add the cold butter, kosher salt, and black pepper, then pour in the broth.
  3. Stir the mixture quickly, then secure the lid with the vent in the sealing position.
  4. Set the Instant Pot to Manual High Pressure for 7 minutes.
  5. Allow 5 to 10 minutes for the Instant Pot to come to pressure before the cook time begins.
  6. Once the 7 minutes are up, carefully Quick Release the pressure and remove the lid.
  7. Stir the cabbage mixture again and use a slotted spoon to remove the cabbage from the pot.
  8. Season with additional salt and pepper if desired, and serve hot.
