Fried Tortillas

Ingredients

The tortillas

  • 8 pieces corn tortillas

The oil

  • ½ inch corn oil or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and set a wire rack over a baking sheet lined with foil.
  2. In a skillet, heat about ½ inch of vegetable oil to 350 degrees.
  3. Add one tortilla to the skillet and cook until blistering, about 10 to 15 seconds.
  4. Flip the tortilla, fold it to form a taco shell, and hold until crispy, about 15 to 30 seconds.
  5. Transfer the fried tortilla to the wire rack and keep warm in the oven while repeating with the remaining tortillas.
