Ingredients

  • 12 pieces corn tortillas
  • ¼ to ½ inch high-heat cooking oil (such as avocado, canola, or vegetable oil)
  • to taste sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a plate with paper towels.
  2. Fill a heavy skillet or Dutch oven with ¼ to ½ inch of oil and heat over medium-high until it reaches 350°F.
  3. Cut the tortillas into six wedges each.
  4. Add a single layer of tortilla wedges to the hot oil without overlapping.
  5. Flip the chips continuously until they are pale golden brown, about 2 minutes.
  6. Transfer the chips to the paper towel-lined plate to drain and repeat with remaining tortillas.
  7. Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately.
