Instructions
- Soak the skewers in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning.
- Heat the teriyaki sauce in a saucepan until it simmers and thickens, then set aside.
- Cut the chicken into 2 cm pieces and the white end of the shallots into 2 cm pieces as well.
- Skewer the chicken and shallots alternately on each skewer.
- Preheat the BBQ grill and coat it with olive oil.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook until browned, then turn to cook the other side.
- Brush teriyaki sauce over the chicken skewers, turning them to coat both sides.
- Repeat the brushing process one more time and then turn off the heat.
- Serve the yakitori skewers on rice or with a green salad.
