Rose Apple Pistachio Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust store-bought or homemade single pie crust
  • ½ batch pistachio butter
  • 4 to 5 apples crisp apples (about 3 pounds)
  • 1 lemon juice from
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
  • to taste whipped cream or ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Roll out the pie crust into a 13-inch circle and place it into a 9-inch tart pan.
  2. Chill the crust in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  3. Spread the pistachio butter evenly on the bottom of the tart shell.
  4. Core and thinly slice the apples using a mandolin.
  5. Lay the apple slices side by side, overlapping slightly, and brush with lemon juice.
  6. Roll the apple slices into roses and place them in the tart.
  7. Chill the assembled tart in the fridge for 1 hour.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  9. Bake the tart for 30 to 35 minutes until the crust is golden and the apples are lightly browned.
  10. Allow to cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
