Ingredients

The popcorn

  • 4 quarts freshly popped popcorn

The seasoning mix

  • cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 teaspoon tequila
  • ½ small jalapeno, minced
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a large paper bag, combine the popcorn with half of the butter mixture and shake to coat.
  3. Add more of the butter mixture if desired, then sprinkle most of the pepper mixture over the popcorn and shake again.
  4. Spread the popcorn evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 5 to 7 minutes until dry.
