Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 Tablespoons whole milk
  • teaspoons active dry or instant yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Nutella

Crumble topping

  • ¼ cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 cup of milk to about 95°F and combine with yeast and sugar, letting it froth.
  2. Mix in softened butter, eggs, and salt, then gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead the dough until soft and elastic, then let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide it, and roll each piece out into a rectangle.
  5. Spread Nutella on the dough, roll it up, and twist the logs together.
  6. Place the twisted logs in greased loaf pans and let them rest.
  7. Prepare the crumble topping by mixing brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cutting in cold butter.
  8. Brush the loaves with egg wash and top with crumble mixture.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
