Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing it with orange juice, milk, and a teaspoon of sugar; let it sit until foamy.
- In a stand mixer, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, butter, and vanilla, then mix until combined.
- Knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth, then form it into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Prepare the filling by mixing butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, melted chocolate, and orange zest until smooth.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and roll it tightly into a log.
- Slice the log in half lengthwise, twist the halves together, and place in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for about an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
- Make the orange syrup by heating water, orange juice, and sugar until dissolved.
- Brush the loaf with the orange syrup after baking, then cool in the pan for 30 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
