Instructions
- Mix one cup of flour with yeast and lukewarm water, cover, and let rise for about 45 minutes.
- Add salt, honey (or sugar), oil, eggs, zest, and vanilla to the bowl, stir, then add the remaining flour and knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 to 2 hours.
- Melt butter and chocolate for the filling, then stir in powdered sugar and cocoa until smooth.
- Divide the dough, roll each half into a rectangle, and spread half the filling on each, rolling them into coils.
- Chill the rolled dough in the freezer for 15 minutes, then shape and place in prepared loaf pans.
- Cover and let rise until the dough fills the pans, about 1 to 1½ hours.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- While baking, prepare the syrup by simmering orange juice and sugar until dissolved.
- Brush the syrup over the baked loaves and let cool.
