Instructions
- Mix all dough ingredients in a stand mixer until a smooth dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes and let it rise in a greased bowl for 1 ½ hours.
- Prepare the chocolate filling by mixing all filling ingredients until combined.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling before rolling it into a log.
- Freeze the logs for about 5 minutes, then cut each log in half lengthwise.
- Twist the halves together and shape into a circle, then place in a greased muffin tin.
- Let the buns rise for 1 hour, then preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Brush the tops with egg wash and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Mix cream cheese frosting ingredients and serve alongside the buns.
