Ingredients

  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • cup bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp table salt
  • cup canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ tsp hazelnut extract
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup Nutella

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake or pie pan.
  2. 2. In a bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then mix in the chocolate chunks.
  3. 3. In another bowl, whisk together the oil, eggs, and hazelnut extract until blended.
  4. 4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients using a rubber spatula until just mixed; the batter will be dry.
  5. 5. Stir in the Nutella until fully incorporated.
  6. 6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan, pressing it into the sides if necessary.
  7. 7. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few gooey pieces.
  8. 8. Let cool on a rack, then cut into squares or wedges.
