Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 T active dry yeast
  • ½ C warm water
  • C all-purpose flour
  • 1 t kosher salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ C sugar
  • ½ C real butter at room temp

Filling

  • ½ C real butter at room temp, divided
  • ¾ C packed brown sugar
  • 1 T cinnamon

Glaze

  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • 2 T butter, melted
  • 2 T milk or cream
  • 1 t vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Bloom the yeast in warm water for a few minutes, then whisk in ½ cup of flour and let it sit covered for 30 minutes.
  2. Add eggs, sugar, butter, salt, and remaining flour to the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled, about 2 hours.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing 2 tablespoons of butter with brown sugar and cinnamon until fluffy.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling, and roll it up tightly.
  6. Cut the rolled dough into pieces using dental floss or thread, and place them in a buttered baking dish.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  8. The next morning, let the rolls rise for about an hour.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the rolls until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
  10. Let cool for 15 minutes before glazing and serving.
