Instructions
- Prepare the cookie dough by whisking together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth, then add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, then add food coloring and chill the dough for at least 1 and ½ hours.
- Prepare the cream cheese filling by beating cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, flour, and vanilla until smooth, then freeze spoonfuls for at least 1 and ½ hours.
- Roll the frozen cream cheese filling into balls and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Preheat the oven and prepare baking sheets.
- Assemble the cookies by rolling cookie dough into balls, creating an indent, placing a cream cheese ball inside, and covering it with more dough.
- Roll the stuffed dough balls in sugar and bake until edges are set, then cool on a wire rack.
