Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing until combined.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Scoop the dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie, and bake for 12-14 minutes.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter until fluffy, then mix in vanilla and gradually add powdered sugar, adjusting with milk if needed.
- Once cooled, frost the cookies and add any desired toppings.
