Ingredients

The pasta

  • 1 pound spaghetti, broken in half

The liquid

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 ¾ cups chicken broth, low sodium

The vegetables

  • 4 cups cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves, torn into pieces

The seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

The cheese

  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine milk, broth, spaghetti, garlic, oregano, cherry tomatoes, salt, and pepper in a large pot.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 10-12 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Off the heat, stir in the basil leaves and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Serve immediately, or let it rest for 5-10 minutes for a thicker consistency.
