Instructions
- Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and melted butter, then whisk in the buttermilk.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and whisk until just mixed. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes.
- Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray.
- Cook the waffles according to the waffle iron's instructions.
- Serve immediately or keep warm in a 200°F oven until ready to serve. Cool any leftovers on a cooling rack before freezing.
