For Serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and coat a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, then add the apples and cranberries, sautéing until soft.
- Stir in the orange zest and juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and simmer before removing from heat.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and brown sugar, then add the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Combine the cubed bread and apple cranberry mixture with the egg mixture, stirring until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until almost set.
- Prepare the topping by mixing the topping ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Remove the pudding from the oven, sprinkle the topping evenly, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until set.
- Allow to cool slightly, then serve topped with maple syrup.
