Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with butter.
- Add the trimmed asparagus to the casserole dish and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, then toss to coat.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the milk and reduce heat to medium-low, simmering until the sauce thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Pour the cheese sauce over the asparagus and sprinkle with Panko breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and the asparagus is tender.
