Ingredients

The broccoli

  • 1 pound broccoli

The seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 lemon wedge for squeezing
  • to taste red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cut the broccoli into large 4-inch florets and trim the long sides to create flat edges.
  2. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt, tossing to coat.
  4. Grill the broccoli for 5 to 8 minutes on one side until char marks form.
  5. Flip the broccoli, tent with foil, and grill for an additional 3 to 6 minutes until tender and well charred.
  6. Remove from the grill, squeeze with lemon juice, sprinkle with red pepper flakes, and season to taste before serving.
