Ingredients

Filling

  • 10 cups apples, peeled, cored and cut into ¾ inch pieces
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons water

Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup finely chopped walnuts
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • to taste cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and coat a 9" x 13" baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the filling by mixing diced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and water in a large bowl, then pour into the prepared pan.
  3. For the topping, combine flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, walnuts, and salt in a medium bowl, then stir in melted butter until combined.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  6. Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
